The wife and I was in the Bedok area this afternoon and thought we’ll visit the showflat of Waterview Condominium – one of those older “new project” that we have not gotten to yet.
However, we were rather surprised to find the sale gallery closed. For a project that still has over 200 unsold units (as of end-February), one would assume that they be open for viewing on weekdays. That assumption is apparently incorrect.
This is the first time we have seen the actual site of Waterview, and sadly, we were not too impressed. The project is wedged at the corner of the intersection between Tampines Ave 10 and Tampines Ave 1 (next door to The Tropica), and the location came across as rather… ulu (remote).
A long canal (make that a long and wide drain) runs along the side of the project that faces the Bedok reservoir. The reservoir is also surrounded by thick rows of trees, so we reckon only those “reservoir facing” units above the tree-line will actually get the reservoir view. The lower-floor units will have to contend with the “canal” view – not at all appealing if you ask us.
